SMS / Text Messaging Terms

These SMS Terms govern the text messaging program (the "Program") offered by Groundhold Inc. ("Groundhold," "we," "us," or "our"). By providing your mobile number and agreeing to receive texts from us, you agree to these Terms. They work together with our Privacy Policy — please read both.

Program description

Groundhold sends text messages about our civic engagement, advocacy, and community organizing work, including updates, events, and ways to get involved. We send messages through standard messaging channels, which may include toll-free numbers, 10-digit long code (10DLC) numbers, and short codes.

Consent

By providing your mobile phone number and opting in, you consent to receive recurring text messages from Groundhold at that number, including messages sent using automated technology. Consent to receive texts is not a condition of signing up, donating, volunteering, or participating in any service or activity. You represent that you are the account holder or have the account holder's permission to enroll the number.

Message frequency

Message frequency varies depending on the program or campaign and your engagement with us.

Cost

Message and data rates may apply depending on your mobile carrier and plan. Groundhold does not charge for the messages, but your carrier's standard rates apply. Contact your wireless provider for details about your plan.

How to opt out

You can cancel at any time by replying STOP, UNSUBSCRIBE, or CANCEL to any message. After you opt out, we will send one confirmation message and then stop sending Program texts to that number. Opting out of texts does not opt you out of other communications, such as email or phone, unless you tell us otherwise. You may also contact us at privacy@groundhold.org to opt out.

Your privacy

Your mobile phone number and text-messaging opt-in information are not shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes, and we do not sell that information. Our full data practices are described in our Privacy Policy.

Supported carriers and delivery

Message delivery depends on your wireless carrier's network and is not guaranteed. Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages. Supported carriers may change at any time without notice.

Changes to these Terms

We may update these SMS Terms from time to time. The current version will always be posted here with its effective date. Your continued participation in the Program after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.
