Groundhold

We hold
our ground.

Groundhold runs people-powered campaigns for a real democracy — and for the communities who live in it every day. Ordinary people, organized, holding the ground we share.

The long hold An abstract poster: a mass of raised placards on poles rising above a gathered crowd, evoking people organizing together.

What we stand for

The ground we hold

A real democracy

A country where every person counts, and the people who live somewhere get a real say in what happens there. We organize across race and background, not around it.

Free expression

The right to speak, gather, question, and disagree out loud — without fear. It belongs to everyone, including the people we argue with.

Room for everyone

Millions of people who will never fully agree, sharing the same streets and the same rules. We build the everyday habits that let difference hold together.

Freedom & liberty

Plain, everyday freedom: to live, work, worship, and move without someone else deciding it for you. We keep that freedom in reach for the next person, too.

What we do

The work ahead

Groundhold is just getting started. We're building an organization that puts people — not money — at the center of public life, block by block and town by town.

Here's the work we're setting out to do.

  1. Run people-powered campaigns

Clear, winnable campaigns that move neighbors from worried to organized — and give people a real way to act where they live.

  2. Recruit and train volunteer leaders

We find people who are ready to lead and give them the skills, the support, and the backing to bring others along.

  3. Organize shoulder to shoulder

No lone heroes. We show up together, in real rooms, and stay until the work is done.

Hard moments don't fix themselves. People do.
